Proposals by guest editors
As a policy of the journal, Cuadernos de Teoría Social organizes its issues around thematic axes whose responsibility can fall in the hands of both members of the editorial staff and guest editors. In this sense, the journal is open to receive proposals for thematic issues. If accepted, the corresponding dossier will be assigned a date after the last issue in the portfolio for its publication.
The protocol for sending proposals is as follows:
- Send an e-mail to [email protected] indicating in the title that a proposal for a thematic issue is being sent.
- Attach a document in Word format indicating: (a) the tentative title of the issue, (b) a text of no more than 300 words explaining the problem to be addressed by the issue, (c) a list of potential authors who could collaborate with contributions to the issue and (d) a brief description of no more than 200 words of the person or persons proposed as editors.
- As a matter of journal policy, each published issue is expected to contain at least one editorial, three scholarly articles, and one text in another format (note, interviews, experiments, photo-essays, and manifestos). Along with invitations from the editors in charge of the issue, it is expected to be complemented by an open call for contributions. All contributions received (either by invitation or call) will receive blind peer review.
- Once received, the proposals will be reviewed by the Editorial Collective of the journal, who will make a decision based on criteria of coherence, relevance and novelty. A decision is expected within one month of receipt of the proposal. If the proposal is positively evaluated, you will be invited to a telematic meeting with members of the journal's Editorial Collective to discuss the details of the proposal and potential suggested adjustments.
- Each guest editor will be assigned a member of the Editorial Collective as a counterpart to manage the issue.
Commitments of guest editors:
- To ensure that the publication is completed by the stipulated date and meets the minimum requirements.
- Ensure that articles submitted for peer review adhere to the guidelines for authors and the format of the manuscript submission template.
- Fluent communication with the journal's editorial counterpart and editorial assistant.
- Ability to resolve potential problems effectively and keep the journal counterpart informed.
