Today, feminism has positioned itself in the public arena, in daily reflection and theory, in academia and movements. This reemergence also involves a rereading of the keys and proposals from the left, as well as a resignification of their questions and claims. This article addresses this issue through an examination of Julieta Kirkwood's feminist proposal in relation to Marxism and, particularly, her criticism of traditional interpretations of social relations and relations of production. Then, the article analizes the relationship between the theoretical development of feminism and the constitution of the movement during the dictatorship in Chile, a connection that fosters a possibility of critical thinking. Finally, the article concludes stressing the need to continue a process of leftist feminist reflection and elaboration, which must be constantly actualized and linked to the movement.
