This is a compilation of some of the reflections I wrote for my blog Progressive Geographies during the research process for books on Michel Foucault. It begins with a brief reflection on what I was doing with these posts, and then is followed by a short piece I wrote for the online review Berfrois about the process of writing the books. That is followed by some short excerpts from some of the blog’s updates. The updates reflected on the research, both in libraries, with my own collection and in archives, and the writing. I tried to share what worked and what didn’t, and to show something of how books are produced, rather than just the outcome at the end.
