The Power of Language. A conversation with Aïcha Liviana Messina

Abstract

In June 2022, the editors of this dossier invite Aïcha Liviana Messina to have a conversation on the current state of post-structuralist social and political thought. Under the proposition to talk about the impact of Derrida's work and the deconstructionist project on philosophy and the humanities, Aïcha accepted our invitation very generously. As is typical of the (post)pandemic times in which we find ourselves, we arranged a meeting by video call, a format that seemed convenient at the time and which proved particularly useful for the subsequent transcription work. We asked her some initial questions and, in the midst of her busy schedule and travels, Aïcha managed to make space in her schedule for this rewarding meeting.
