Why feminism in research? This has been a vibrant question in higher education since the Feminist May 2018, in Chile. However, since the 1980s, feminist epistemologies have challenged the conversation about knowledge and its processes of construction. In this article, I reflect on the contributions of feminisms to knowledge that expand and displace naturalized ideas about politics of research and gender. I argue that the discussion about the presence of women in knowledge is necessary but insufficient; feminist discussions provide us tools to question notions about knowledge and the patriarchal structure that still sustains institutionalized sexism in academic spaces. To reimagine another possible research is a dialogue I construct with theorists that have positioned feminisms as a transformative project.
