Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published or submitted for consideration by any other journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).
  • The text is in the format of the "manuscript submission template", adhering to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect format.

Author Guidelines

  1. Submission, length and format: manuscripts should be submitted in Word format (.doc or .docx) in Spanish and should conform to the CTS manuscript submission template. The template document establishes typologies, font sizes and general structure of the documents and is available in Word format in this document. Scientific articles should be between 4,000 and 6,000 words in length, including all sections (including titles, abstracts, key words, tables, figures, notes and bibliographical references). In exceptional cases, and in consideration that the content of the text merits it, a maximum of 8,000 words may be considered. Notes and photo-essays should be between 1,500 and 3,000 words in length. For other types of contributions, the length should be discussed with the editorial staff of the journal.
  2. Authorship: All references that allow the identification of the authors in the document to be evaluated should be removed. Avoid placing personal data at the beginning of the document, in footnotes, figures, metadata, references, etc. Once the editorial process has begun, inclusion, removal of authors or changes in institutional descriptions will not be accepted, except for justified exceptions that will be arbitrated by the editor.
  3. Footnotes: footnotes should be essential and should be placed at the bottom of each page. Footnotes with only bibliographical references should not be included; these should be cited in APA 7 in the body of the text.
  4. Bibliographical references: All references must conform to APA 7th edition format, see detailed guidelines.  The use of bibliographic reference managers is recommended.
