About the Journal
Cuadernos de Teoría Social is an academic journal in Spanish, published bi-annually (with issues in August and December), founded in 2015 and based at the Laboratorio de Transformaciones Sociales of the Universidad Diego Portales. Cuadernos promotes a plural and interdisciplinary understanding of classical and contemporary social thinking, in a fluid dialogue between philosophy, history, sociology and political theory. Rather than subscribing to a particular theoretical perspective, school of thought and intellectual tendency, the Cuadernos subscribe to the priority of questions. Traditionally, the Cuadernos have been organized around thematic issues, with many of their contributions being the product of invitations from the editors or members of the editorial collective. Today, our journal is open to the reception of a broad spectrum of articles and proposals for thematic issues by guest editors, to the extent that they dialogue with the themes established by the editorial collective and bring new and/or relevant ideas to the social-theoretical discussion.
Objectives and scope
Cuadernos de Teoría Social (CTS) publishes manuscripts that contribute substantively to discussions on social theory from various disciplines, positioning itself as a space for discussion and dissemination of research in the Social Sciences, Humanities and their interstices. Currently, the articles are submitted to double-blind peer review, seeking to enrich the content of the texts. The works published in STS are free of charge. Likewise, the submission and publication of manuscripts do not involve any monetary cost for the authors.
